Descreening
Scanning printed material creates an unsightly moiré pattern in scanned images. Art-scan's Multi Level Descreening Filter allows you to remove this pattern by setting the original's halftone screen size. Art-Scan Pro removes this moiré while keeping the image sharp unlike most other methods of descreening.
|
Line and Noise Removal
As scanners get old, veritcle lines tend to appear in the shadow areas of the scanned images. In addition most scanners have trouble distinguishing between dark shades of black creating a fuzzy look in the shadows called noise. Line and Noise Removal attempts to locate these areas and smooth them out using an average of surrounding pixels.
|
Auto Rotation
If the image you are scanning is slightly rotated Art-Scan will automatically correct the rotation based on the image edges within the selection rectangle. You also have the ability to manually set the rotation of an image simply by dragging the slide bar.
|
Auto Color Correction, Histograms, Curves & Levels
Correcting Scans has never been so easy since Art-Scan automatically sets the levels, gamma and saturation for near perfect scan every time. You can also use Art-Scan Histogram, Curves and Levels command to fine turn image an your preference.

Complete ColorSync/ICC Filter
Acquiring, Displaying and Printing images from/to different devices made by different manufacturers is no longer a problem with Art-Scan's ColorSync support. Simply select the profiles of your device and specify your proofing system and you get near perfect color matching between scanner, monitor, and printer.

Preferences
The preference menu allows you to turn off and on various program features such as Unzoom to Wide Window, Auto Zoom Selection Rectangle, and Blur Preview Outside of Selection Rectangle. Type of Scanning
Batch scanning is completely new feature in Art-Scan that allows you to scan multiple images all at one time. Traditionally, if you wanted to scan more than one image at a time, you had to put the first image in your scanner. Then, you had to preview the image and crop it. Next, you scanned the image. Following that, you had to put another image in your scanner and repeat the process over and over - a time consuming process.

Image Adjustment Settings
This is the easiest way to enhance an image for most people. Many different adjustments can be manipulated with the scroll bar. You can choose the option you want to adjust, such as Highlight, Shadow or Saturation from the Image Adjust pull down menu. Then to adjust, use the slider bar or the right or left arrows on the scroll bar itself. For example to make your image darker, choose Dark to Light and move the bar on the scroll to the left.
